Xprss Napkin Dispensers
Xprss Napkin Dispensers save energy and waste. The napkins are made of 100% recycled paper and the dispenser will encourage customers to take (and waste) fewer napkins. Energy is saved because less power is used to recycle paper products then brand new paper products.
APEX Dishwashing System
APEX combines technology and products designed to save water and energy, minimize the impact of products on the environment, and has a built-in method of measuring results. The APEX management approach uses a tablet PC and wireless technology to communicate with the system’s controller to download, process and analyze data to establish each foodservice operation’s “rack-to-guest ratio.” By monitoring and improving this ratio, the system helps reduce the amount of water and energy used at each facility, and improve total operational efficiency.
Waste. Watch. Reuse Program
Say goodbye to Styrofoam and hello to green. With Bethel Dining’s Waste Watch Reuse program diners can only use reusable to-go containers. Because of the program Bethel University carbon footprint is being decreased and wildlife is being saved. For only $5 diners can join the program and be a member throughout their time on campus.
Stop Hunger
At Sodexo, it’s our belief all children deserve access to sufficient healthy food every day so they can learn, play and thrive.
That’s why, in 1996, we created our Stop Hunger initiative and, in 1999, launched the Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation, a not-for-profit organization. Our mission is to ensure every child in the U.S. grows up with dependable access to enough nutritious food to enable them to lead a healthy, productive life.
The Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation mobilizes experts, innovators, volunteers and donors to feed children in the U.S. today and advocate for policies that ensure no child is hungry again tomorrow. This includes Sodexo employees, who support Stop Hunger year-round by donating their time, resources and expertise, holding fundraisers and encouraging others to get involved.
Sodexo, Inc. funds all administrative costs for the Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation so all money raised helps those in need. Since its inception, we have granted more than $34.5 million to alleviate child hunger.
By the end of 2021, we will:
- Contribute to 3 million children in the U.S. having access to adequate, healthy food every day
- Contribute to protecting the social safety net that helps children and families move out of and avoid poverty and hunger
- Solidify our leadership in identifying, investing in and scaling innovative, youth-designed and youth-led solutions to childhood hunger
To accomplish our goals, we will use three cross-cutting strategies:
- Invest in capacity building
- Identify, document and scale youth-led solutions
- Leverage the full assets of Sodexo
Global Presence:
Globally, Stop Hunger is a leading force in the fight against hunger that is present in 41 countries with the goal of being in all 80 countries where Sodexo does business.
Our global objectives for 2021 enable us to measure our efforts and guide our actions. They include:
- Donating 10 million meals (or meal equivalents) / year
- Raising $10 million to continue funding projects / year
- Engaging 200,000 volunteers to take action locally / year
